Hubie Halloween Synopsis (Story Line)

Hubble Halloween brings Adam Sandler's familiar humor to Halloween season in a story set in Salem, Massachusetts. Hubie Dubois is well-meaning but buffoonish deli worker with the self-appointed job of Halloween safety monitor in town. Because of his zany antics and outlandish gadgets, Hubie tends to be a victim of pranks and ridicule among the townspeople. His pranks get the ire of the local forces, such as Sergeant Steve Downey (Kevin James), Sergeant Blake (Kenan Thompson), and Father Dave (Michael Chiklis).

Hubie is madly obsessed with Halloween. He always thought of Halloween as his favorite holiday when he was a child. However, most of his family seemed to believe that Halloween really was evil so that they did not let him celebrate it. Now that Halloween is once again close, he takes his "Halloween Helper" role very seriously because he becomes decided that he would protect Salem from any evil thing.

While Hubie goes about his rounds, he comes across his wacky new neighbor, Walter Lambert (Steve Buscemi), who appears to believe he is a 459-year-old werewolf. It also doesn't help things that a former friend, Richie Hartman (Rob Schneider), has broken out of a mental institution and is likely terrorizing the town. A sweet shining beacon in all the mockery is his ex-student and lifelong crush, Violet Valentine (Julie Bowen), who encourages him to continue his quest. But a series of spooking incidents around Salem-from kidnapping to strange noise-that begin to change his perception, Hubie's Halloween might turn out to be more real and dangerous than he could have ever thought.

As he gets through a frantic Halloween night and rescues the town, Hubie stumbles upon some unexpected family ties and, finally finds some respect from the townspeople. Woven together with slapstick comedy, mystery elements, and a touching conclusion, Hubie Halloween is an amusing adventure for this Halloween.
